Program Content
Our Technical Leadership program is as rewarding as it is challenging. We pride ourselves on offering the most up-to-date and comprehensive leadership program available.
The Technical Instructor program is a combination of practicum and internship. The practicum is approximately 18 hours of academics where topics will include instructional standards & procedures, program limits & expectations, leadership skills, and teamwork. The internship portion - approximately 106 hours in length and incorporating approximately 18 dives - will give the instructor candidate the chance the work with a number of instructors, both in the classroom and on dives with technical students. The best experience you can obtain is from actually teaching students alongside our instructors.
This program is about learning what you can achieve as a leader and expanding your potential as a diving instructor. Technical diving is the fastest-growing area in the diving industry today. Open the door to opportunities in technical diving and meet the challenge that technical instruction brings.
Prerequisites
- At least 21 years of age
- Good physical condition
- Completed medical questionnaire
- Appropriate equipment
- Instructor certification (with valid insurance) with at least 25 certified students
- Technical Diver certification for at least one year
- Logged proof of 250 dives, including:
- 50 dives in twin tanks
- 25 decompression dives with stage tanks
- 50 dives in the last 12 months
Course Limits
- Student to instructor ratio 2:1
- Maximum depth during course dives 150 feet (45 metres)
- No training dives will be in overhead environments (except decompression)
- Decompression gases will range from 50% to 100% O2
Tuition
All fees are in Canadian dollars
- Tuition fee: $1,000
- Certification fees, manuals, dive gases, boat fees and other course expenses are extra and are subject to change

At H2O Madness our courses are designed to help students find the tools they need in order to expand their knowledge and meet their diving goals. When you take a course form us you are not paying for a certification, you are purchasing training. Certification will only be issued if the student completes the program in the required time and to the satisfaction of the primary instructor.
